DUBLIN and ATLANTA – November 13, 2018 – Waratek, the compiler-based application security company, announced today that its Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, James E. Lee, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Identity Theft Resource Center ® (ITRC), a nationally recognized nonprofit organization established to support victims of identity crime.
The ITRC’s Board of Directors is composed of individuals from a variety of backgrounds in the financial, cybersecurity, insurance, legal, and utilities sectors. The Board provides insight, guidance and advice on the direction of the company in order to fulfill its mission to support victims of identity theft and bring awareness to the issue.
“Consumers, businesses, and government agencies all grapple with the aftermath of data breaches,” said Lee. “I’m honored to help the ITRC fulfill its role of helping identity crime victims as well as educating consumers and business leaders about the privacy and security issues that impact them.”
Lee is an expert in data privacy and security, and previously served on the Board of the San Diego-based ITRC from 2005 until 2014, including three years as Chair. Lee has also served as a leader of two efforts by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to address issues of data privacy and identity management.
Founded in 1999, the ITRC provides no-cost assistance to victims of identity crime and aims to broaden public education and awareness in the understanding of identity theft, data breaches, cybersecurity, scams, fraud, and privacy issues. Through both public and private support, the ITRC also offers consumer education through its call center, website, social media channels, live chat feature and ID Theft Help app.
