John Matthew Holt co-founded Waratek to solve the most important challenge faced by production workloads around the world: real-time application security compliance.  Under John Matthew’s leadership, Waratek built a range of award-winning autonomous agents that seamlessly attach to any application stack, securing vulnerable workloads from the inside-out with no source-code changes and no administrative tuning.  John Matthew helps to steer Waratek’s continued growth and development of its award-winning application security solutions.

Dr John Holt
Founder and COO

John co-founded Waratek with his son, John Mathew, to commercialize his son’s research into Java virtualization. In 2009, John was instrumental in relocating the company from Australia to Ireland to improve access to international markets.

Chris Rouland
Executive Chairman of the Board

Chris Rouland is co-founder and CEO of Phosphorus Cybersecurity Inc. A 25-year veteran of the information security industry, Chris is a renowned leader in cybersecurity innovation and disruption. In his career, Chris has founded and led several multi-million dollar companies including Bastille, the first company to enable enterprise security teams to assess and mitigate the risk associated with the growing Internet of Things, and Endgame, which recently sold to Elastic for $247MM. Chris also stood up the X-Force at Internet Security Systems in 1998, as well as serving as CTO up to the $1.6B sale to IBM where he was appointed CTO and Distinguished Engineer.. Chris is a sought-after speaker with appearances at prestigious global security conferences including RSA, Black Hat, and HITB GSEC, and has been featured as a security expert and contributor for national broadcast and print media outlets including CNN, Forbes, and The Wall Street Journal. Chris holds twenty patents and a Masters Degree from the Georgia Institute of technology.

Douglas Ennis
Chief Revenue Officer

Doug has over 20 years experience ranging from internal IT, consulting and sales.  He has developed a deep understanding and appreciation of Cybersecurity and the Networking landscape.  Doug has held Sales Leadership Roles in companies focused on Data Privacy, Network Security, Application Performance Management and Mobile Device Security & Management.  He received his Master’s of Science, Information Technology and Security from Capella University and his Bachelor’s in Computer Science from John Carroll University.

Padraic Gaffney
Chief Financial Officer

Padraic brings 20 years’ experience in the areas of finance, accounting and strategic planning at start-ups as well as rapidly growing SME’s.  As Chief Financial Officer at Waratek, Padraic is responsible for finance, legal and corporate secretarial.  In the past Padraic has held senior leadership roles and has successfully led finance projects which were both strategic and transformative in nature.  Padraic has a BSc in Applied Science from TU Dublin and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

Jason Dolan
Director of Engineering

Jason is Waratek’s Director of Engineering where he oversees the Waratek development process ensuring engineering departments work cohesively together for focus, efficiency and scalability. Jason evaluates, designs and implements new processes across engineering to achieve on-time releases, sustained quality and shortest time-to-market for new innovations.

Turlough Whelan
QA Manager

Turlough is responsible for co-ordinating and managing all Quality Assurance activities. He has extensive experience of QA leadership and Project Management, working in Sun Microsystems for 16 years including a 3 year spell at the company headquarters in Silicon Valley in the high-end server division. Turlough remained with Oracle until 2014 before coming on board with Waratek in June of that year. Turlough has a Bsc in Applied Computing from the University of Ulster in Applied Computing (1994), plus PRINCE Project Management Certification.

Nollaig Heffernan
Director of Pre-Sales Engineering

With over 18 years’ experience in Software Engineering & Delivery, prior to joining Waratek Nollaig worked in the E-commerce, Software Simulation and the Medical Training Systems space. Nollaig is a graduate of the National University of Ireland Maynooth where he received a BSc in Maths and Physics and a Higher Diploma in Applied Physics.

Tony O'Keeffe
Director of Client Services

Tony O’Keeffe is responsible for managing the development and delivery of all Waratek projects ensuring customer satisfaction. Tony brings over 20 years industry experience in software design, development, team leadership and project management in organisations such as Aldiscon, Trintech, O2 and Realex Payments. Tony has a BSc in Applied Computing, a Postgraduate Diploma in Cloud Computing, an MBA from UCD Smurfit School and is a Certified ScrumMaster.
