John Matthew Holt
Founder and CTO

John Matthew Holt is founder and chief technology officer of Waratek. John Matthew is the inspiration and technical driving force behind Waratek’s groundbreaking research and development into distributed computing and virtualization technologies. A compiler engineer by training, John Matthew has focused on compiler optimization for most of his career, which ultimately led him to create Waratek in 2009. He now leads a multinational team of expert engineers in Waratek’s Dublin R&D lab.

John Adams
CEO

John Adams is chief executive officer of Waratek. As CEO, John has complete responsibility for developing markets and operating all aspects of the organization’s global business.  John has a rich history in security and medical technology with his experience spanning more than two decades. Prior to Waratek, John served as president & COO of SecurAmerica leading the company’s expansion into nearly three-dozen new geographic markets and growing the company from 5 employees to over 5,000.

Dr John Holt
Founder and COO

John co-founded Waratek with his son, John Mathew, to commercialize his son’s research into Java virtualization. In 2008, John was instrumental in relocating the company from Australia to Ireland to improve access to international markets.

Chris Rouland
Chief Security Officer

Chris Rouland is a 25-year veteran of the information security industry. Chris has founded several companies focused on providing cyber security to Fortune 500 corporations and government agencies.  Chris’ most recent company, Bastille Networks, is the only company focused exclusively on providing intrusion detection and vulnerability assessment for the Internet of Things (IoT).

Apostolos Giannakidis
Security Architect

Apostolos drives the research and the design of the security features of Waratek’s RASP container. Before starting his journey in Waratek in 2014, he worked in Oracle for 2 years focusing on Destructive Testing on the whole technology stack of Oracle and on Security Testing of the Solaris operating system. Apostolos is acknowledged by Oracle for submitting two Java Deserialization vulnerabilities that were fixed in the Oracle January 2019 CPU and is featured on Google’s Vulnerability Reward Program Hall of Fame.

Jason Dolan
Engineering Development Manager

Jason is Waratek’s Engineering Development Manager where he oversees the Waratek development process ensuring engineering departments work cohesively together for focus, efficiency and scalability. Jason evaluates, designs and implements new processes across engineering to achieve on-time releases, sustained quality and shortest time-to-market for new innovations.

Turlough Whelan
QA Manager

Turlough is responsible for co-ordinating and managing all Quality Assurance activities. He has extensive experience of QA leadership and Project Management, working in Sun Microsystems for 16 years including a 3 year spell at the company headquarters in Silicon Valley in the high-end server division. Turlough remained with Oracle until 2014 before coming on board with Waratek in June of that year. Turlough has a Bsc in Applied Computing from the University of Ulster in Applied Computing (1994), plus PRINCE Project Management Certification.

Prateep Bandharangshi
Director of Pre-Sales Engineering

Prateep has more than 15 years experience as a systems architect and devops engineer. He has worked on a wide range of projects in the design, deployment, operation and security of enterprise Java/Unix systems across multiple industries and geographies. As a key member of Waratek’s pre-sales engineering team, Prateep supports all aspects of delivering Waratek’s technology to customers including vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, exploit mitigation, security engineering and architecture, incident response and security requirements analysis.

Nollaig Heffernan
Director of Pre-Sales Engineering

With over 18 years’ experience in Software Engineering & Delivery, prior to joining Waratek Nollaig worked in the E-commerce, Software Simulation and the Medical Training Systems space. Nollaig is a graduate of the National University of Ireland Maynooth where he received a BSc in Maths and Physics and a Higher Diploma in Applied Physics.

Gil Lyons
Business Development Manager

Gil leads Business Development in the US.  He has over 20 years’ experience in technology, but started out working in the restaurant business. He found another passion, technology at IBM and diverted his career to innovation, which brought him to Waratek.  He has a love of food which enables his family to stay fed. His outside love is golf and his favorite playing partner is his son.

Johan Beckers
EMEA Sales Director

Johan is a seasoned sales professional and internationally experienced leader with a proven track record in sales, business development and technical sales management. Johan has 20+ years of experience in cybersecurity, having worked both at early stage technology start-ups (ISS, Bastille, Waylay) and large global companies (IBM). Johan holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Leuven and an MBA from the University of Brussels.

Tony O'Keefe
Director of Client Services

Tony O’Keeffe is responsible for managing the development and delivery of all Waratek projects ensuring customer satisfaction. Tony brings over 20 years industry experience in software design, development, team leadership and project management in organisations such as Aldiscon, Trintech, O2 and Realex Payments. Tony has a BSc in Applied Computing, a Postgraduate Diploma in Cloud Computing, an MBA from UCD Smurfit School and is a Certified ScrumMaster.

Traci Curran
Vice President, Marketing

Traci leads the global marketing strategy and operations for Waratek. With 20 years of experience in technology marketing, Traci has held key leadership with several emerging security companies with a focus on branding, communications, and product marketing.

Debbie Fuller
Marketing & Communication Director

Debbie has more than 30 years experience of Product Marketing in the Fintech Sector working with CitiBank NA, in their Global Electronic Markets department and has particular skills in working with start up companies. She is able to communicate across all areas and has particular focus on the corporate digital presence. Debbie is an experienced photographer and has hands on design experience.
